Sipher Odyssey is a fast-paced action RPG with rogue-lite elements. The game combines fast-paced ranged and melee combat mechanics with various rogue-lite elements such as procedurally generated levels, progressively challenging gameplay, and limited resources, encouraging endless amounts of playthroughs.

Gameplay Mechanics

Combat

Sipher Odyssey is an action-packed game with intense & fast-paced combat mechanics. Players can customize their loadout with a wide array of ranged and melee weapons, from katanas and whips to pistols and assault rifles.

Players can choose one ranged weapon and one melee weapon before running each dungeon, and they can easily switch between them while in battle. As such, players can experience the thrill of taking on enemies from a distance with their ranged weapon, or they can get up close and personal with intense melee encounters.

In addition to normal attacks and dashes, each vessel has a unique ability that adds an extra layer of combat strategy.

Core Gameplay

Dungeons

A dungeon consists of multiple floors, each progressively generated and containing various enemy types that have unique attacks and abilities that create a challenging gameplay experience for the player. There are also variations and Elite versions of enemies.

Some floors contain regular enemies and mini-bosses, while others are entirely dedicated to challenging bosses.

Dungeons and enemies can scale in difficulty depending on the level, the vessel’s progress, and whether the player entered the dungeon on their own or with a team of friends.

Progression

To progress through the dungeon, players must clear all enemies on each floor. A player will complete the dungeon only after completing all of its floors.

Getting defeated in a dungeon is a special occasion, as players must restart the dungeon from the beginning. However, players continue to make progress after each dungeon run. For more information, refer to Vessel Progression.

Augmentations & Equipment

Augmentations and Equipment are key features in Sipher Odyssey’s core gameplay. Combined with procedurally generated dungeons, these create opportunities for endless combinations, adding a high level of replayability to the game.

Game Modes

World Exploration

Story Mode offers a unique experience in which players can explore dungeons and access lost memories, uncovering the secrets and mysteries that lie within Sipheria as they progress through the storyline.

As players complete the various dungeons and unlock new areas, they'll encounter challenging enemies and bosses that they must battle and defeat to progress further through the game.

Endless Anarchy

Fight through endless floors while battling waves of monsters that become stronger over time, until all players get eliminated. Players can create a team with friends, join others via matchmaking, or attempt this mode on their own.

After all the players are eliminated, scores are calculated to determine the winners and any rewards. Factors such as damage dealt to enemies, damage received, and the number of dungeon floors cleared all contribute to each player’s score.

ARENA

Tournaments are time-limited events where players can compete in various game modes to accumulate Tournament Score, increase their Leaderboard rankings, and earn rewards.

There are various Tournament game modes for players to enjoy, such as "Shoot 'Em Up". To participate, players must use Tournament Tickets, which are generated daily or can be purchased with [redacted].

The goal is to achieve the highest ranking on the Tournament Leaderboard by the end of the Tournament. The higher a player's score and ranking, the better the rewards they will receive!

Corruption

Corruption is occasionally triggered during dungeon runs and increases the difficulty by adding certain effects to the vessel, enemies, floors, or traps. Corruption adds another layer of complexity or difficulty to each dungeon run. As such, players should try to complete dungeons as quickly as they can, or strategize during their equipment and augmentation selection.

Player-driven Economy

Sipher Odyssey enables a player-driven economy where players can buy, trade, acquire, and sell commodities and items as a core element of its gameplay. You can consume resources you've gathered to craft equipment, or you can trade certain items on the Marketplace.

After reaching the required account level or meeting the requirements, players can access the Marketplace to trade with other players.

The Marketplace allows players to drive the state of the in-game economy. It is a place for players to trade, buy, or sell Sipher vessels, equipment, blueprints, and materials.

There are limits and restrictions to the types of items that can be traded in the game. Additionally, players must pay an upfront fee (Transmog Currency) to sell items on the marketplace.

Transmog Currency

Transmog currency, which is obtained via In-app Purchases, is required to make an in-game asset tradable on the marketplace or to mint it to the blockchain. The transmog fee for each in-game asset is determined based on factors such as the type, rarity, and tier; and other economic factors such as power score inflation and the number of such assets in the playerbase or marketplace.
