Overview

Consumables in Sipher Odyssey are single-use items that provide temporary advantages during gameplay. These powerful resources allow players to adapt to challenging situations, recover from damage, or enhance their combat capabilities for limited durations. Strategic use of consumables can turn the tide of difficult encounters and help overcome seemingly impossible challenges.

Consumable Types

Consumables are classified based on their acquisition method:

Purchased Consumables

  • Available from in-game shops using Bytes (soft currency) or ROM (premium currency)
  • Can be purchased during matches in certain game modes (e.g., Aberrated Mode)
  • Available in different rarities affecting potency and effects

Crafted Consumables

  • Created using resources gathered during gameplay
  • Materials obtained through:
    • Pet extraction
    • Rewards from various game modes
    • World drops and chests

Consumable Slot System

Each vessel has dedicated consumable slots that determine how many different types of consumables can be equipped:

  • Initial slots unlock progressively based on player level:
    • 1st slot: Level 10
    • 2nd slot: Level 15
    • 3rd slot: Level 20
  • Each slot can hold only one type of consumable
  • The quantity of consumables per slot depends on their rarity

Effect Classifications

Consumables are divided into four primary effect categories:

Instant Effects

  • Self-Healing: Immediately restore health (Bandage, First Aid Kit, Medkit)
  • Area-of-Effect attacks centered on player
  • Status effects application (negative to enemies, positive to allies)
  • Debuff removal (Core of Purify)

Duration-Based Effects

  • Temporary buffs lasting for specified seconds
  • Aura effects benefiting nearby allies
  • Movement speed enhancements (Pill of Agility)
  • Damage increases (Great Potion of Wrath)
  • Defensive bonuses (Great Potion of Iron Will)

Action-Based Effects

  • Benefits that last for a specific number of actions
  • Attack enhancements (Small Potion of Wrath)
  • Defensive buffs (Small Potion of Iron Will)
  • Special ability modifications

Floor-Based Effects

  • Effects lasting for multiple dungeon floors/rooms
  • Shields (Battery of Hope)
  • Revive speed acceleration (Combat Medic Kit)
  • Environmental protection (Boots of Hunter)

Core Consumable Items

Healing Items

  • Bandage (Common): Instantly restores a small percentage of HP
  • First Aid Kit (Uncommon): Instantly restores a medium percentage of HP
  • Medkit (Rare): Instantly restores a large percentage of HP
  • Core of Purify (Rare): Removes all debuffs and disables immediately

Combat Enhancement Items

  • Small/Great Potion of Wrath: Increases damage output
  • Small/Great Potion of Iron Will: Enhances defensive stats
  • Pill of Power: Increases critical hit chance
  • Pill of Agility: Boosts movement speed
  • Pill of Swiftness: Improves dodge chance

Area Effect Items

  • Elixir of Guardian (Epic): Creates an aura that regenerates HP for allies
  • Elixir of Rage (Epic): Creates an aura increasing attack damage for allies
  • Elixir of Wisdom (Epic): Reduces skill cooldowns for allies
  • Elixir of Flash (Epic): Increases movement speed for allies

Usage Mechanics

Effect Stacking

  • Players cannot stack identical consumable effects
  • Using the same consumable again resets the duration timer
  • Different consumable types with similar effects can be used simultaneously
  • Status effects appear as icons on the HUD with remaining duration

Activation Features

  • Some consumables have activation animations that temporarily restrict player actions
  • Activation animations vary by consumable type:
    • Drinking animations for potions
    • Bandaging animations for healing items
    • Casting animations for spell-like effects
  • Animation duration generally correlates with effect potency

Strategic Considerations

  • Keep emergency healing items for critical situations
  • Layer different consumable types for maximum effectiveness
  • Consider animation time when using consumables in combat
  • Distribute consumable types across team members in cooperative play
  • Save rare consumables for boss encounters and difficult challenges
