Ather Labs’ first game is SIPHER a lore-heavy Action RPG with a PVE Co-op Dungeon and PVP Battle Arena mode, designed for both casual and competitive players. The game is easy to pick up but hard to master.
Our founding team is based in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. However, we are an international group with hybrid roles, consisting of members from various backgrounds, including Vietnam, the US, Europe, Singapore, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Indonesia, and more.
✍️ Responsibilities:
- Character Design: Create visually stunning and unique 2D character designs that align with the project's artistic vision, narrative, and target audience.
- Character Illustration: Produce high-quality 2D illustrations of characters in various poses and expressions, showcasing their personalities and emotions effectively.
- Color and Texture: Apply appropriate colors, shading, and textures to the characters to enhance their visual appeal and fit seamlessly within the overall style of the project.Collaboration: Work closely with the art director, game designers, and other team members to ensure character designs align with the project's requirements and integrate well with the game mechanics or storytelling.
- Character Sheets: Create comprehensive character sheets with multiple views, poses, and facial expressions to guide the 3D artists or animators in the production pipeline.
- Research and Inspiration: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, art techniques, and new tools, drawing inspiration from various sources to push creative boundaries and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements: 🌟
- A degree in Fine Arts, Illustration, Animation, or related fields
- Proficient in relevant 2D art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other similar tools.
- Ability to conceive and execute original and imaginative character designs that resonate with audiences.
- Able to adapt and work within various art styles to suit the project's requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and interpret feedback.

- Prior experience working as a 2D Character Artist in the gaming, animation, or media industry is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of animation principles to assist in creating dynamic character designs is desirable.
