Sipheria is a complex world full of virtual life. On different worlds, this life takes various forms, often shaped by the gods who created them. These forms are reflected in both their appearance and behavior.
Sipherian Critters
Sipheria Critters encompasses a variety of plants and animals that inhabit the Sipheria universe, ranging from grass and wildflowers to mighty oaks, and from buzzing insects to migrating herds of animals. Surrogates can harvest these critters to obtain the resources needed to craft, repair, and upgrade their equipment, armor, and ships, as well as make cosmetic changes.
Sipherian Megafauna
Megafauna refers to large and dangerous creatures found on Sipheria's worlds. These creatures often reflect the nature of their environment. They are universally strong and resilient, requiring powerful weapons and precise shots to take them down.
It is believed that Megafauna is an evolved form of Sipherian critters, transformed due to prolonged exposure to Ather deposits. These creatures are huge and fearsome, posing a deadly threat to unprepared Surrogates. They attack first, with single-mindedness and viciousness, but are also worthy targets for enterprising Surrogates. Megafauna guards a cache of resources and Ather, which may be the cause of their engorged size.
Sipherian Guardian Spirits
Guardian Spirits are entities created by Kūsōka or by the gods of Sipheria for specialized purposes, such as guarding key locations or artifacts. They are not to be hunted for resources or sport, as they are incredibly dangerous and powerful, often far surpassing the strength of a single Surrogate.
Fortunately, these creatures don't fight unless provoked. Their goal is never to kill, but rather to protect what they're guarding. If a battle goes wrong, a Surrogate can attempt to flee, and may successfully escape if they're lucky enough.
Mystic Entities
Mystic Entities are a unique type of creature found in Sipheria. Their purpose is unknown, and no Surrogate has discovered or been able to defeat them in combat. What's more, these creatures are capable of traveling between Blocks similar to Surrogates, making them difficult to track and slay. This is likely why no one has been able to do so yet.
