Welcome to the comprehensive guide on Sipher Odyssey's Carfting system! This feature allows players to fine-tune their equipment with powerful modifications, creating unique builds suited to their playstyle. The system replaces the previous Crafting mechanic with a more flexible approach to gear enhancement.
Core Concepts
Full Equipment
The foundation of the Customization system is built around "Full Equipment" items:
- Each piece of Full Equipment comes with empty slots for Parts and Software
- The number of slots is fixed based on the equipment's rarity
- All equipment can be customized, regardless of rarity
Parts and Software
The Customization system uses two types of components:
Parts:
- Add additional 2nd Stats to your equipment
- Available in different rarities (Common to Mythic)
- Can be type-specific or shared across equipment categories
Software:
- Add additional Augments to your equipment
- Provides powerful gameplay-altering effects
- Augment effects are randomized upon installation
Slot Distribution
Equipment has varying numbers of slots based on type:
- Weapons & Chest Gear: 2 Part Slots & 1 Software Slot
- Other Gear (Helmet, Gloves, etc.): 1 Part Slot & 1 Software Slot
Augment and Stat System
Base Augments
Each piece of equipment can have one Base Augment that provides a special ability or effect:
Weapons:
- Gun Base Augments: Trigger elemental bolts, AOE explosions
- Melee Base Augments: Trigger special attacks like Fire Boomerang, Frost Nova
Gear:
- Helmet: Periodic effects like summoning Poison ViVi or granting health
- Body: Trigger defense mechanisms when taking damage
- Gloves: Powerful effects triggered on enemy kills
- Leggings: Conditional triggers based on enemy status effects
- Boots: Special effects triggered when dashing
2nd Stats
Parts add 2nd Stats to your equipment, enhancing various attributes:
Weapons:
- Damage bonuses (elemental and physical)
- Critical chance/damage
- Magazine size and reload speed
- Special bullet effects (piercing, chaining, bouncing)
Gear:
- Health and resistances
- Attribute bonuses (Strength, Precision, etc.)
- Movement speed and evasion
- Special defensive properties
Rarity and Stats
The number of possible stats on equipment depends on its rarity:
- Common: 2 stats (1 base stat, 1 part stat)
- Uncommon to Rare: 3 stats (1 base stat, 1 part stat + 1 additional)
- Epic: 5 stats (1 base stat, 2 stats per part)
- Legendary to Mythic: 6 stats (2 base stats, 2 stats per part)
Part Compatibility
Parts have tier and rarity restrictions:
- Parts cannot exceed the tier and rarity of the equipment
- Shared Parts work on multiple equipment types but have lower stat values
- Exclusive Parts are type-specific but offer higher stat values
Customization Process
To customize your equipment:
- Select the equipment you want to enhance
- Choose which slots to fill with Parts and Software
- Pay the required resources (Power Cores and Bytes)
- Confirm your choices to apply the modifications
When a Part is used, its stat range is converted to a fixed value that remains on the equipment. For example, a Part with +[10%-30%] Damage might become +23% Damage when installed.
Replacing Components
You can replace previously installed Parts and Software:
- Replacing destroys the original component
- All stats and augments from the old component are removed
- Requires special materials and Bytes to perform
- Cost increases with higher tier and rarity equipment
Equipment Ascension
Beyond customization, you can further enhance equipment through Ascension:
- Ascension enhances the value of all 2nd Stats on the equipment
- Requires special materials and Bytes
- Higher ascension levels have decreasing success rates
- Failed ascension attempts don't downgrade the equipment
Resource Costs
The primary resources for customization are:
- Power Cores: Main resource for customization, varies by equipment tier and rarity
- Bytes: Secondary currency required for all customization processes
- Special Materials: Required for replacing components and ascension
Salvaging Customized Equipment
When salvaging equipment with installed Parts and Software:
- Receive 50% of the value you would get from salvaging the Parts and Software separately
- Higher Ascension Level equipment provides more resources when salvaged
- 50% of resources used for upgrading the item are returned
This guide will help you understand and navigate Sipher Odyssey's powerful Customization system. Experiment with different Parts and Software combinations to create the perfect loadout for your playstyle!
