Ather Labs’ first game is SIPHER a lore-heavy Action RPG with a PVE Co-op Dungeon and PVP Battle Arena mode, designed for both casual and competitive players. The game is easy to pick up but hard to master.
Our founding team is based in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. However, we are an international group with hybrid roles, consisting of members from various backgrounds, including Vietnam, the US, Europe, Singapore, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Indonesia, and more.
✍️ Responsibilities:
- Managing Builds: You will manage the CI/CD workflow process for game development projects. This includes automating builds, release management. Coordinating with other departments, such as Quality Assurance and Production, to ensure a smooth release process.
- Ensuring Compatibility: You will work to ensure that game builds are compatible with different platforms, such as PC, console, and mobile devices.
- Global release management: You have to control deploying dedicated game server to multi-region on cloud.
- Monitoring Performance: You will monitor the performance of game builds and releases, and work to identify and resolve issues as they arise.
- Documenting Processes: You will document build and release processes, ensuring that they are clear and concise, and easily understood by other team members.
- Collaborating with team members: You will work closely with other team members, including artists, designers, and programmers, to ensure that builds and releases meet project requirements.
Requirements: 🌟
- Education and Experience: A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is typically required. Relevant work experience in game development, release engineering, or software engineering is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and hands-on technical experience in Kubernetes, Git, and Jenkins (or similar) is required.
- Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or Python is essential. You should also be familiar with build and release automation tools and processes, as well as software development tools and source control.
- Knowledge of Game Development: Understanding of game development concepts and experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine is important. Familiarity with game art and design principles is also a plus.
- Problem Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential to collaborate with team members and to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: You should have a keen attention to detail to ensure the stability and reliability of builds and releases.
- Self-Motivated: You should be self-motivated and have a passion for creating high-quality builds and releases for game development.
- Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing requirements and work in a fast-paced environment is important in game development.
Overall, a Release Engineer in Game Development should have a strong technical background, a passion for game development, and a desire to create high-quality builds and releases that meet project requirements and are compatible with different platforms.
