Overview
Vessel Augments are intrinsic power-ups unique to each vessel (character) in Sipher Odyssey. Unlike gear-based augments, these augments are permanently tied to specific vessels and represent their innate abilities and specializations. Each vessel comes with a distinct set of augments that enhance their natural strengths and complement their playstyle.
Augment Distribution
Every vessel possesses six vessel-specific augments divided into two categories:
Race Augments (3)
- Drawn from a pool of augments specific to the vessel's race (INU, NEKO, BURU, NEZUMI)
- Enhance the vessel's racial attributes and core mechanics
- Complement the race's natural playstyle and strengths
- Vary between vessels of the same race, creating unique combinations
Sub-Race Augments (3)
- Drawn from a pool of augments specific to the vessel's sub-race
- Directly enhance the vessel's unique skill or ability
- Support the vessel's specialized playstyle in more nuanced ways
- Create distinctive gameplay experiences even among vessels of the same sub-race
Augment Variety
Each vessel is generated with a random selection from these augment pools:
- Not all vessels of the same race and sub-race will have identical augments
- The system pulls from larger pools of potential augments for each race and sub-race
- This creates unique vessel variations with different strategic advantages
- Players can collect multiple vessels of the same type to access different augment combinations
Strategic Value
Vessel Augments influence gameplay in several important ways:
Skill Enhancement
- Sub-race augments directly improve a vessel's signature skill
- Enhancements may affect damage, duration, area of effect, or cooldown
- Some augments add entirely new properties to the vessel's skill
Playstyle Support
- Race augments reinforce the vessel's natural strengths
- Some augments create synergies with specific weapons or equipment
- Others provide passive benefits that complement the vessel's role
Build Foundations
- Vessel Augments form the foundation for gear-based augment choices
- Players can build around these intrinsic augments when crafting equipment
- Creating synergies between vessel and gear augments maximizes potential
Examples by Race
