Challenge Dungeon is a competitive game mode in Sipher Odyssey that tests your skill with pre-defined vessels and equipment. Unlike other modes where you bring your own gear, Challenge Dungeon puts all players on equal footing with the same loadout and challenges you to reach the highest level possible.
Core Mechanics
Standardized Gameplay
- Single Player Only: No co-op option available
- Pre-defined Loadout: All players use the same vessel, equipment, and face the same corruptions
- Seasonal Rotation: Loadouts change every 1-2 weeks to keep the challenge fresh
- Endless Format: Similar to Endless Mode, with the goal to reach the highest level possible
Gameplay Experience
Corruptions
- Corruptions are active from the beginning of the dungeon
- Similar to those found in AI Hunt (Boss Raid)
- Full corruption list is displayed along with the vessel and equipment information
- Corruptions can be toggled on/off based on game design configuration
Difficulty Scaling
- Fixed difficulty bracket for all players
- Scaling is calibrated specifically for the pre-defined vessel and equipment
- Creates a balanced challenge that purely tests player skill
Competitive Elements
Leaderboard System
- Single Unified Leaderboard: All players compete on the same leaderboard
- Ranking Criteria:
- Highest level reached
- Time taken to reach that level (faster time = higher rank when levels are tied)
- Weekly Reset: Leaderboard resets every week with new rewards
- Reward Structure: Similar to standard Endless Mode rewards
Seasonal Structure
Each Challenge Dungeon "season" introduces:
- New vessel and equipment combination
- New set of corruptions
- Fresh leaderboard with updated rewards
- Duration of 1-2 weeks per season
All seasonal changes are configured server-side, allowing for updates without client patches.
Challenge Dungeon offers a true test of skill where everyone starts with identical tools and faces the same obstacles. Can you outplay the competition and rise to the top of the leaderboard with your superior strategy and execution?
